We’re delighted to announce the launch of the new website and brand refinement for We Care Wales, the careers and recruitment arm of Social Care Wales.
The new, fully bilingual website is the result of 2 years of stakeholder engagement, research, digital strategy, UX design, accessibility testing and technical development by Toward and the Social Care Wales team.
The strategy for the website was based on a user centred approach, focusing on the unique challenges of all the audiences WeCare Wales engage with. During discovery we conducted user interviews with key groups, as well as workshops and research with the Social Care Wales team, utilising their expert understanding of the sector.
The website is built for people to find out more about the rewarding and varied roles and workplaces in the social care and childcare sectors, and then to look for training, experience, and jobs within the industry. We completely changed the way the Find a Job function works, making it fit much more easily into employers existing processes. This makes it easier for employers to post jobs, and for the people applying for them.
Above: The new design system for the WeCare Wales website included a refined, fully accessible colour palette, new brand typography and a softer, lighter and more appealing design approach.
We partnered with Golley Slater to enable automated job imports from local authority employer partners, meaning their roles are automatically imported into the site on a daily basis. This takes a huge burden away from these employers who typically need to post the most vacancies.
We have also made it much easier for Social Care Wales to maintain the site by integrating Craft CMS—one of the most accessible CMSs available. We have extended Craft to enable better data collection so Social Care Wales can monitor the success of the new site and track it s effectiveness.
The We Care Wales team have an ambitious goal of improving the number of people working in the Social Care and Childcare sectors and we are delighted to have given them a bigger and better platform for continuing on their journey.
Our full case study will be coming soon. In the mean time you can visit the new We Care Wales website today.
