Over the past 2 years we’ve been building a strong and successful creative partnership with one of the leading energy companies in the UK, Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE). SSE supplies electricity and gas to around 9.6 million customers in Great Britain and Ireland, making them the second largest energy supplier in the UK.
The SSE Group is made up of many individual businesses. They provide a range of services and operate under the regional names of SWALEC, Southern Electric and Scottish Hydro. We’ve been fortunate to work with a number of these business areas and have provided design services for both business to business and business to consumer projects.
Working closely with the SSE marketing team Toward has completed a wide range of projects including literature design, exhibition systems, flash animations, email campaigns and most recently the marketing and provision of design services for an SSE event.
In August 2010, SSE approached Toward to help them market a cross group event being held by SWALEC that would bring together many of the different services they offer, and promote them to local authorities, councils and businesses. Between us we decided to use email marketing, alongside traditional communications to promote and manage the RSVP process for invitees.
Working with our favourite email marketing tool, we created a system to send invitations, manage RSVP’s on-line, feedback reports and follow up with reminders closer to the event. This meant the management of guests was immediately responsive, easy to manage and almost completely automated.
For the event itself, we created a wide range of exhibition banners, posters, leaflets and a folder pack with inserts.
Working with Toward is both refreshing and inspiring. Their enthusiastic approach and broad creative capabilities has given our campaigns the modern edge needed, whilst remaining on budget, on time and on brand.

We have a number of projects in the pipeline with SSE and look forward to developing our relationship even more in 2011.
